GUWAHATI TO SHILLONG
- Gather with your new travel companions in Guwahati before we set off on a winding drive toward the Scotland of the East. We will make a mandatory stop at the vast Umiam Lake, where the calm blue waters mirror the surrounding pine-clad hills. The transition from the plains to the cool mountain air marks the beginning of our highland escapade. Once in Shillong, you have the evening to wander through vibrant local markets or find a cozy nook in a heritage cafe. Dinner and rest in Shillong.

SHILLONG TO SOHRA (CHERRAPUNJI)
- Journey into the heart of the East Khasi Hills as we transition to the rain-washed cliffs of Sohra. We will pause at the Mawkdok Dympep Valley for staggering views before delving into the subterranean wonders of Arwah and Mawsmai. These natural limestone galleries offer a glimpse into the earth's ancient history. Before the sun sets, witness the ethereal beauty of the Seven Sister Waterfalls cascading down steep vertical walls. Retreat to our eco-stay for a night under the stars. Dinner in Sohra.

Offbeat Sohra Exploration
- Prepare to be awestruck by the sheer scale of Nohkalikai Falls, a turquoise pool fueled by a legend as deep as its basin. We take the path less traveled, seeking out the hidden three-tiered Wei Sawdong Falls, where the water carves through stone in perfect harmony. The day is designed for those who appreciate the rhythm of nature, with plenty of time for spontaneous photography and quiet reflection. We finish the day shared stories by the fire. Overnight and dinner amidst the Sohra mists.

Sohra to Nonjrong
- Today we head off the grid into the deep valleys where the melody of the forest takes over. We visit the world-renowned whistling village of Kongthong, where every resident is known by a unique tune rather than a name. Our trek takes us to ancient living root bridges, architectural wonders grown by generations of Khasi families. As the light fades, we reach Nonjrong, a place where you literally stand above the clouds, watching them roll through the valley like a silent river. Village stay at Nonjrong.

Nonjrong to Mawlyngbna
Watch the sunrise over the cloud sea before we depart for the majestic Laitlum Canyon, often called the End of the World for its sheer drops. We then step into the twilight of the Mawphlang Sacred Grove, an ancient forest where nothing can be taken out and every tree has a story. Our route passes through Mawsynram, the moisture-rich heart of the hills, before settling into the quiet village of Mawlyngbna. Here, the pace slows down to the mountain rhythm. Dinner and overnight stay in Mawlyngbna.

Mawlyngbna to Mairang
Dive into the crystalline natural pools of Mawlyngbna for a morning of water activities and exploration of prehistoric fossils. We then venture into Krem Puri, a labyrinthine sandstone cave that holds secrets of a lost world within its vast chambers. The afternoon drive is a panoramic feast through the West Khasi Hills, characterized by rolling meadows and clear streams. We reach Mairang, a peaceful outpost, to enjoy a final evening of kinship and local hospitality. Rest and dinner at our Mairang resort.

Mairang to Guwahati
On our final morning, we descend from the high plateaus, passing through the sweeping Markham Valley. This stretch of road is a final embrace from the Meghalayan landscapes, offering wide vistas of the countryside. We reflect on the week's adventures as the hills eventually give way to the bustling energy of the Brahmaputra valley. We reach Guwahati by afternoon for onward departures, carrying the spirit of the hills with us. Our shared journey concludes with a lifetime of memories.
